On December 5, 2025, Georgeta Cislaru, professor and researcher at the CLESTHIA laboratory (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle) and member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF), was honored by the “Alecu Russo” State University of Bălți (USARB) in Moldova, which awarded her the prestigious title of Doctor Honoris Causa.
The distinction was presented by Rector Dr. Natalia Gaşiţoi, in the presence of Vice-Rector Dr. Valentina Priţcan and Senate Secretary Dr. Oxana Chira, as part of the university’s 80th anniversary celebrations. It recognizes an exemplary academic career, high-level scientific contributions, and Georgeta Cislaru’s continued commitment to promoting language sciences on an international scale.
The university thus sought to acknowledge the strong and lasting connection it maintains with former students who have become leading figures in academia, and to recognize their role in knowledge transmission, cutting-edge research, and the defense of academic values.
This recognition once again highlights the scientific excellence of the EFL project, led by internationally renowned researchers engaged in meaningful cross-border collaborations. It perfectly illustrates the spirit of openness, exchange, and transmission that drives our community, and reinforces the EFL project’s position as a central actor in the global field of language sciences.
Congratulations to Georgeta Cislaru on this well-deserved distinction!
